Shape Your Future - Sculpt Event

Recently, we had the honour of attending the launch of a new project by UK-based charity Sculpt.
This project is a programme known as Shape Your Future. As the name suggests, it aims to help 375 Free School Meals / SEND students in London shape their future career paths by offering 10 days work experience over the course of 3 years with workshops, skill building, CV writing and more.
CEO of Sculpt UK, Claire Bonham, GLA Senior Project Officer, Joanna Huxton and Youth Programme Officer, Lucy Pettet were able to effectively explain the programme's values and goals, which are to promote an inclusive environment by working alongside students from all backgrounds and tackle the boundaries between said students and employment. This programme is funded by Careers and Enterprise company in relation to the government's new Modern Work Experience guarantee.
As this project has only been in development since November, Sculpt held this event at the Bankside Hotel to gain potential volunteers from businesses both big and small.
These businesses will go on to help set up workshops and co-design the programme.
We were able to connect with other businesses and discuss how we can benefit the programme through collaboration and teamwork. As for 2Toucans, we are planning to help Sculpt by running workshops.
